World Cashew Exports – Shelled (Metric Tons)
Over the 2006-2016 period, the world cashew exports followed a growing trend. Cashews were mainly exported by Vietnam and India, which added up to 73% the world share. Because of their processing capacity, they are also big raw cashew nut (RCN) importers, primarily from Western and Eastern Africa. In 2016, 75% and 24% of India RCN imports came from Western and Eastern Africa, respectively. Similarly, Vietnam imported 55% of its share from Western Africa and 27% from Eastern Africa, while in Brazil, also a processor country, 100% of its RCN imports came from Western Africa. In turn, Vietnam, India and Brazil accounted for 92% (75%, 11% and 6%, respectively) of the USA shelled cashew imports.
