World Brazil Nut Exports – Shelled (Metric Tons)
In spite of a 24% drop from 2015 in 2016 Brazil nut exports, the overall exports trend between 2006 and 2016, remained positive. Bolivia was the top exporter both in 2016 and on average over the 2012-2016 period. The UK and Germany concentrated 83% of Bolivia Brazil nut exports, with around half of the share each.
The USA accounted for 64% of Peru exports. Brazil exports main destinations were Australia (24% of the country share), Italy (18%) and The Netherlands (15%). As for the re-exporting countries, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK destined the majority of their shipments to the rest of Europe as the USA did to Canada.
